My Story

Gilbert at Home.jpeg

Master Gilbert

Professional Greeter

Gilbert is the Laidler family's 13 year old vizsla, and part of the reason Claire runs her clinic from the family home.  Gilbert has dementia making it difficult to leave him by himself.  He likes to say hello to patients when they arrive, and then goes by the fire or finds a sunny spot. For those patients who are allergic or nervous of dogs, there is no problem with Gilbert going upstairs during their appointment.

Living Well Chiropractic

Living Well Chiropractic was established by Dr Claire Laidler, 12 years ago, originally in the beautiful spa town of Harrogate, North Yorkshire.  A family move to Worcestershire, reestablished the clinic in Dr Claire Laidler's family home within yet another spa town, Droitwich, Worcestershire.  Over the 12 years, the approach and philosophy has not changed, and is still focused on providing evidence based clinical Chiropractic and workplace spinal health, to enable the body to heal and function at it's best.

We provide Chiropractic care to all ages, from school aged children requiring support with posture, parents managing the daily stresses of family life, working professionals requiring the best from their working day both mentally and physically, and senior aged members of the community seeking a comfortable lifestyle in their later years.

Living Well Chiropractic is unique by offering gentle, effective and affordable chiropractic care in clinical and workplace settings.

My Story     Claire Laidler MChiro, LRCC, MMCA, GCC Reg. 03780

Through childhood I struggled with knee and lower back pain. My wrists, ankles and neck clicked daily.  Whilst studying for my first degree I'd experienced shooting pains down my arm to my hand and was told there wasn't any wrong with me.

Thirty plus years of ignoring injuries, playing sports, studying and poor postures, all came to a head a few years into working in performance sport development.  The demands of work, and the stress and travel that came with it, manifested as migraines.  They would leave me unable to get out of bed, my working day would be over and my personal and working life unpredictable because I never new how much I was going to be able to achieve on any particular day.

I remember being at breaking point, and opening the Yellow Pages (yes I am that old) and choosing the chiropractor closest to where I lived.  During that first treatment, it was like my brain and body were being rebooted.  I distinctly remember what felt like a burst of energy, pumping through my limbs.  I felt alive.  After the second appointment I was walking home and a stranger stopped me in the street and said "you make me want to walk up tall", slightly in shock but wanting to share my secret, I announced "I've just been to the chiropractor!".

That was it, I was hooked and I knew this is what I had to do.  I spent 18 months saving up as much money as I could and commenced a five year integrated Masters degree at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic in Oxfordshire.  It was a very tough degree.  Our cohort started with an intake of 82 students, with only 36 qualifying.  This is testament to the level of study required and the college's requirement of high calibre graduates.

Now into my second decade of practise, I have a broad wealth of knowledge and experience and whilst providing quality evidence based chiropractic care, I want to make spinal health care available to everybody.  Which is why I make my clinical setting chiropractic care affordable as possible, and more recently created The Mobi concept for the workplace setting.  You can find out more about The Mobi by clicking here.

I am registered with the General Chiropractic Council.  I hold a full membership with the McTimoney Chiropractic Associate and I am also a Licentiate Member of  The Royal College of Chiropractors.

I look forward to welcoming you into practice and helping you on your journey of spinal health.
